Three global ranking systems
A three-component composite
GURI splits Global Ranking Performance into two measurable components; Ranking Achievement (72%) and Ranking Coverage (18%), alongside Institutional Legacy (5%) and Institutional Momentum (5%). Every source rank is converted to a linear percentile against the total institutions that system publishes, so scores adapt as ranking coverage changes.
Read full methodology- • Achievement (72%): Mean of per-source percentiles against each system's total published institutions.
- • Coverage (18%): 100 / 60 / 20 for 3 / 2 / 1 sources.
- • Legacy (5%): Continuous 0–100 up to 150 years.
- • Momentum (5%): Average annual change in Achievement.
- • Missing Legacy or Momentum contributes 0, no re-weighting.
