Our composite methodology

GURI Composite Ranking: how we average?

We use QS, THE and Shanghai positions only. For each university we compute the simple arithmetic mean of available positions in those three systems. Equal weight is given to each included system. Rank bands like 401–500are converted to their midpoint (450.5). Open bands like 1001+are treated as 1001 and flagged as open-ended.

This composite ranking is an independent analytical tool designed to compare universities across major global ranking systems. It does not represent or replace any official ranking issued by QS, Times Higher Education, ShanghaiRanking, U.S. News, or the Arab Ranking for Universities. Indicator weights shown above are based on each provider's most recent published methodology and may be revised by the providers in future editions.
