What a report contains
Reports are generated from the same data as the public tables, formatted for circulation and citation.
- Headline outcome: GURI Composite Score, global rank and national rank for the cycle.
- Per-source detail: the published position and normalised percentile for each ranking system, each labelled with its own edition year.
- Indicator breakdown: Ranking Achievement, Ranking Coverage, Inter-Ranking Consistency, Institutional Legacy and Institutional Momentum shown separately.
- Data integrity notes: any indicator with insufficient data is stated explicitly rather than estimated.
- Verification: a unique report identifier and a public link confirming authenticity, version and status.
Verification and versioning
Every report is issued with an identifier that can be checked on a public verification page, which reports whether the document is the current version or has been superseded by a later one.
This matters because performance figures are quoted in accreditation submissions, board papers and marketing material, sometimes long after issue. Versioning makes it possible to confirm both that a document is authentic and that it is still current.
Comparison and country reports
The same reporting engine produces two further document types. Comparison Performance Reports set two institutions side by side across every indicator. Country Performance Reports summarise a national system using the Higher Education System indicators — average GURI score, system representation, average institutional legacy and system excellence.
All three types share the same identifier, versioning and verification model, so any figure in any report can be traced to the edition and indicator set that produced it.
Who uses them
Institutional planning and quality-assurance offices use reports as evidence in accreditation and review submissions. International offices and marketing teams use them as verifiable third-party summaries of standing. Ministries and agencies use country reports for system-level benchmarking against regional and economic comparators.
